Mechanical Adversaries

Several hours ago, hostile artificial life attacked population centers worldwide. Several types of hostile artificals have been observed since then.

  • Headhunters look like large, weirdly designed dragonfly synth morphs with powerful grappling appendages and two arms ending in surgically sharp rotary saws. Presumably robots, their purpose is to sever and collect human heads, which are then encased in a fast-hardening transparent polymer and flown away. So far, all departing headhunters have been observed heading east, toward Lake Michigan.
  • Decerebrate Zombies are resuscitated casualties—decapitated humans left behind by Headhunters. Swarms of small, boxy bots with spidery legs follow in the wake of Headhunter attacks, attaching themselves to the stump of the neck and taking control of the body. The first zombies observed were lightly equipped and posed only a moderate threat in combat. Later, the group was ambushed by much better equipped zombies with improved sensor arrays, armor, heavy & indirect fire weapons, and physically superior morphs. All zombies are incredibly tough and have been observed to stay on their feet and functional despite attacks that would mortally injure most morphs.
  • Spotter Drones accompanied one heavy zombie unit. Drones were roughly disc shaped, unarmed, quite fast, and propelled by an unknown means. Drones assisted the zombies in launching indirect fire attacks against the agents.
